A mom of three grown boys. A college student in Rhode Island. A woodworker from São Paulo, Brazil. These are three of the five emerging artists who will exhibit their work at the Cherry Creek Arts Festival this July 5, 6, and 7.

CherryArts, the nonprofit that produces the annual fine arts festival, has supported artists through its Emerging Artists Program for twenty years. But this year they’ve expanded the grant component of that program by allocating a total of $25,000 for five emerging artists. Each of these artists, who are in the early stages of their careers, received $5,000 in unrestricted funds, as well as exhibition space and marketing support at the 2024 festival.

“I’m so excited to grow in this next phase of my career,” said Emilia Ealom, a ceramicist based in Denver and one of this year’s emerging artists. “This program has been a wonderful opportunity to learn and gain exposure to the art festival world.”

The 2024 emerging artists are:

  • Annie Anderson, who paints large-format figures on paper, based in Portland, Maine
  • Adam Anglin, who begins with digital compositions he then paints, based in Denver
  • Giulio D’Amore, a multimedia artist from Brazil who works primarily in wood and light, based in Denver
  • Emilia Ealom, a ceramicist who specializes in stoneware pottery, based in Denver
  • Phoebe Hatch, a painter from Boulder currently studying at the Rhode Island School of Design
