With summer in full swing, it’s the perfect time to go on your next Mountain adventure. We’ve compiled a list of the best summer spots throughout Bozeman, Montana to make the most of the season.
1. Bozeman Hot Springs
Bozeman is home to some of the best natural hot springs in Montana. If you get lucky, there might be live music playing as you enjoy your swim. The springs can also be great for recovery and relaxation after a long hike or nature walk during the day with amenities like cold tubs, a gym and a spa. There are 12 different facility pools that range from 56 degrees to 106 degrees, as well as multiple sauna rooms. The Bozeman Hot Springs are located 8 miles west of Bozeman on US 191.
2. Madison River
The Madison River is a great way to experience Montana’s scenery. Floating down the river can take anywhere from 1-4 hours depending on where you start and the water levels. You can grab your rafts, inflatable coolers and anything else you might need to float down the river while enjoying the water and fresh air. Guided trips with the Bozeman Kayak Company are also available.
3. Farmers Market
Bozeman Farmers’ Market at Lindley Park hosts several local growers, artisans, crafters, musicians and more are featured every every Tuesday until September 10, 2024 from 5-8 pm. It’s voted as the “Best thing in Bozeman” and “Best Farmers Market”, making it a vibrant place for both the community and families. A portion of the revenue generated from the market is used to improve and preserve Bozeman parks and common areas.
4. Gallatin Valley
Gallatin Valley has over 100 miles of trails to discover and is ideal for hiking, biking, running and birdwatching. Its wildflowers that sprout up along the trails during the early summer mesmerize visitors with their beauty. Even during late summer, the views are still enjoyable with vantage points overlooking trees, lakes and the landscape of Montana.

Patio dining is an essential part of savoring Bozeman’s weather. Montana Ale Works is the place to be for beers, foods, and more with happy hour lasting from 4-6 everyday with. The restaurant was voted as a top-ten restaurant on TripAdvisor for Bozeman, and has an inspiring view of evening sunsets.
6. Hyalite Canyon Recreation Area
The Hyalite Reservoir has a no-wake rule, making it an ideal place to go cool off with stand up paddle boarding, fishing or kayaking. There are also a few hiking trails near the reservoir that range in difficulty. The Palisade falls trail is a popular hiking trail leading to the waterfall with breathtaking views, while the Blackmore Lake Trail is more difficult but is less crowded.
