For an old West getaway, the True Ranch Collection offers a selection of dude ranching experiences in Arizona, Montana, and Wyoming. Each adventure includes a three or six-night stay at historic ranches. Jaye Wells, managing partner of True Ranch Collection says, “Guests can expect all-inclusive accommodations, adventures, and dining.” The stays feature local area tours, evening entertainment, horseback riding, archery, shooting, fly fishing, hiking, and white-water river rafting. “Kids are welcome at the ranches and find it a fun, eye-opening experience,” says Wells.

Until September 28, 2024, ranch vacations will include the Yellowstone Pop-Up at the historic Blackwater Creek Ranch in Cody, Wyoming. The ranch is located along the banks of the beautiful Shoshone River in the Shoshone National Forest just 15 miles east of Yellowstone National Park. Teddy Roosevelt dubbed the area “the most scenic 50 miles in the U.S.” Blackwater Creek Ranch construction began in 1915 with the last of the guest cabins completed in the 1950s.

Each cabin has its own bathroom, cozy sleeping, and is beautifully appointed with comfortable furnishings and Navajo rugs. The ranch location permits direct access to the trails in Shoshone National Forest and an evening trip into Cody, Wyoming for dinner. Look forward to an outing to the Cody Nite Rodeo to watch amateur and professional cowboys compete in bull riding, barrel racing, and team roping events.

Ranch guests will thoroughly enjoy a day trip to Yellowstone National Park with Janay Brun, naturalist, and author of Cloak & Jaguar: Following a Cat from Desert to Courtroom. Brun will provide information about the flora, fauna, and ecology of the terrain along with Native American history of the area.

Each summer, True Ranch Collective offers a camp experience for youth who have lost a parent deployed in the military. Mentors provide an opportunity for kids to explore and learn about the American West at no charge through their nonprofit Ranch Preservation Holdings, LLC. True Ranch Collection also acknowledges the lack of federal funding for dedicated preservation.

Their nonprofit donates a portion of ranch resort proceeds and works with the Forest Service to preserve and maintain America’s historic ranches. In this way, they also preserve immersive opportunities for adventure and education about the traditions of the Western ranch.
